Battery Problem
I just experienced a rather odd battery problem. I was going out to make a beer run, I turned on the battery before starting the engine, but then everything went dead a moment later. I tried to restart but the gauge lights just flickered. I waited about a minute, turned off the headlights and windshield wipers and the battery and engine started. When I left the grocery store my car started up again with no problem except that the engine reved high...the RPM needle went up to like 6000 then settled back down. I doubt my battery is dead since it started, if it were dead it would not start without jumper cables. But is this symptons of a dying battery? I got my 04 ES in Jan 04 so I think the battery life should last longer than this. Even with the car alarm's LED light flashing non-stop when armed.
if you have a DVOM, put it on volts and check both battery terminals for voltage drop, you may have some corosion (sp) and that can cause ur problem, or you can have a bad alinator WIRE, check that wire for voltage drop also. (both sould be LESS than .1volts)... f neither things help, leave it here, and i'll give u a few more things to try!
