Unhappy Brake lights on w/ blinker & reverse?!

I just put in my headers and my CAI and after like 10 minutes of starting the car up. When i pushed the brake pedal, not only did the brake lights go on but also the reverse lights, rear left blinker, and left side marker?! I can see the left blinker indicator in the guage console lighting steadily but not as bright as when you actually use the blinker...Same for the reverse lights? do i have some kind of electrical problem or something? oh by the way i just got my ECU replaced dunno if that matters though because it has nothing to do with the lights right.... thanks

What makes you think the headers and CAI have anything to do with the lights? All that free airflow just blew out the circuitry?

I'd blame the ECU first.

Or look for an electrical issue second.

i unplugged the batt and reconnected it. after a few minutes when i pushed the brakes my reverse and my blinkers went on together. still the same problem.. does the ECU have anything to do with which lights go on and when?

The ECU controls every single electrical process in the entire car.

Are you under warranty? Maybe hit the dealership.

there's 2 ecu's tho. one in the fuse box under the hood (controls most lighting/accessorie functions), and the one behind the glove box(engine control). Unless you want to dig through tons of wiring diagrams and try to trace down every wire and eliminate the possibility of there being a short, just have the dealer check it out

WOOHOO!!! problem is fixed. It didn't have anything to do with the ECU. After unassembling the fuse box and looking for shorts on any wire that i could possibly see it turns out that my lights were acting up because of a measly little loose wire on the left light. Get that... well thanks to everyone for all the help!
