With a slightly adjusted throttle cable (or whatever the proper name is) my car idles just over 1k and it has also seriously diminished jerkiness in second gear.

 

Still going well.

My gear box has smoothed up significantly. I never had the 2nd gear problems other people had. 3rd for me is a little grindy but I think it's because I missed it while racing this camaro from a light the other day.

i got ym problem solved it dont grind anymroe
i had brough it in cause the car had really failed on me im talkin clutch blew up on me
i brought it in the throw out bearing melted looks like someone put it throuw a potato shredder and the clutch was gone
thats what was makin the knocking sound a long time ago when i first bought the car but mitshu didnt listen to me
so i got stuck payin 800 bucks for there mistake

I heard you should put in new bushings if your getting bad shifts..

 

Warranty...what's that? Only kidding, but mine was gone in about 17 months... 58,000 miles and counting...

I'm not going to curse myself so i won't say aloud I haven't had any problems...

 

wow, this thread rose from the dead. my lancer hasnt had any problems accept that it doesnt go 0-60 in 5 seconds....i think my motor is bad or something.

 

I find that 3rd geasr grinds a lot. It doens't fully engage or something. other than that though, runs great.

 

when i turn my car on i get a huge sqealing sound..... loose timing belt?????? anyone know??

when i drive off it squeals louder.... then it stops after a few seconds. it happens when i turn on the A/C too.

 

i'm gonna record this sound on my phone and take it to mitsu and see whats up..luckily i have no engine or exhaust mods..... YET

 

i havent had a single problem, and i just hit 46k miles, boo ya

 

^^^me neither. i just hit 47000. no squeaks or noises either.

 

i think its our kick *** cali weather, or just simply the fact that maybe we maintain our cars really good

 

id say so. but im really suprised, seeing as how i drive it extremely hard all the time. oh yeah, i just remembered a noise mine makes.....the exhaust bumps the swaybar every now and then........

 

I'm pretty sure your squaling noise would not be the timing belt, or you'd have a million other issues. most likely you just need to tighten up the fan belts or get new ones, which
is easy and cheap.

 

I have 38K on it, and other than flipping it one winter... its problems free....
