well, my first one was totalled when i rolled it. but i have to say, for what happened...that car held up great. i probably owe my life to the fact that the roof didnt cave in.

well, pretty much from not knowin how to drive a fwd vehicle and goin too fast around a curve. the cars excessive body roll and crappie tires didnt help much either.

mine was in snow, I dunno when urs where...
so mine was over confidence on my tires...
my prievious car was sportier
so I overestimated what the lancer could do

I drive an 04 Oz and of course it's jerky in 1st and 2nd, if you don't want it to buck then shift at 2000, if you can stand driving like that!! I've got 27000 km on mine, I drive it pretty tough, I don't like my rpm's below 2500, usually around three, shift at four unless I have to learn someone and unleash 4000 through 6000!! I have no problems whatsoever with my car other than the idle being off a little ever since I added my AEM CAI! This is just what I was thinking... no research, or proof, but I would bet that where your car was assembled had alot to do with reliability???? I know we drive "US" Lancers, but I was relieved when I checked my VIN and found out my car was built at one of the plants in Japan, (it tells you what plant your car was built at in your VIN #, 2 in Japan, 2 in the states) It's a safe bet that quality control and attention to detail, big and small is alot better in the japanese plants, that's my take anyway... It would be interesting to see which ones have more trouble, the Japan Assembled or the American?
