Brights out, but reg. lights still on??

Maybe you guys can shed some light on this for me:

On my headlights, my brights went out (BOTH sides), but my regular lights still work.

Was I flashing my brights too much?!? lol

Thanks,
Marita

possibly, but that shouldn't be a problem. Just check your fuse that's located under the hood, battery side. You probably just popped a fuse. These things do happen. Oh, Why you flashing your Beams all the time anyways? use your HORN! lol

Check Fuses, Then Replace Bulbs, if it is still a problem start to diagnose electrical system in further detail.

haha...I flash my brights when trying to get stoplights to change, and when I tell people to go. I guess I need to stop going to those slow stoplights!!...lol.

The high beams have a separate fuse from the regular setting?

what are you trying to accomplish? this does nothing.

like stated earlier, check the fuses. if that doesn't solve the problem; change the bulbs.

I know some lights in UT have the sensor in them that change the lights after flashing(for emergency vehicles and such)

Some stoplights DO have sensors on them, others do not. Maybe you don't have any stoplights with sensors in your area, so you never had a chance to experience them.

we do but you need OpniComs to change them...it's basicly a strobe with a certain flash pattern...only emergency vehicles are equiped with them though.

Maybe you should be more open to other areas having different technology than your area....just a suggestion.

If your area does not use pattern recognition, thats some pretty antiquated technology. Apparently, when they first came up with the idea, they used regular sensors that weren't too finely tuned and flashing your brights would change them. they caught on to that pretty quickly and tuned them so that only strobes (much faster than you could ever flash your brights) would activate them. Then they decided that it would be best to use a special strobe with a certain pattern to prevent people from using $5 wal-mart strobes to change the lights. so, basically if you can actually change the lights with your brights, either your area has the oldest of the old (no disrespect intended) or the city council doesn't mind motorists getting into flash wars at the stop lights. Don't take this for me talking crap, as I live in Baton Rouge, LA. to my knowledge, we don't even use any kind of flash program in our lights, the ambulances just have to dodge traffic, lol
