I had a very similar problems with the plastic breaking around the screws when I installed my CAI. That is some really flimsy plastic or something in there. Anyway a shot or two of WD-40 losened those bolts up nicely. As for gripping the now freely spinning bolts to allow the nut to be removed I used a pair of vice grips clamped down on them and prayed that they did not slip off and go smashing though the honeycomb part of the MAS. Needless to say it didn't or I would be looking for some one to sell me theirs or spending a lot of time at the junk yard.

Oh yeah and the guy who installed that is a dumb ***.

Let me guess, it's a Ebay intake too. That along with someone who don't know how to read instructions or is too lazy to equals

For the record it won't DAMAGE your engine, but it WILL cause you to run extremely rich, therefore bogging your engine. The ECU won't know how much air you're pushing and it should richen the mix as much as possible to keep your AFR from leaning out. Whoever told you to remove the MAS should not be allowed near your car again.

ya i got the MAS back on (WHOOO HOOO) and everything is good now, except for the fact that the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light stays on. Do i need to reset the ECU or how does this work? IF i do can someone please tell me how?

i belive i read earlier that all you do is take off the negetive side of the battery and then let it idle for 15 mins. Just wanna make sure so i dont mess anything else up.

(PS) Firestone came in handy taking out those nasty screws hehe

thanks

Disconnect your neg battery terminal for 10+ minutes. This will reset the ECU. Then start the car and idle it for 15 minutes you should be good to go after that.

Good luck bro.. and punch that guy in the face.. I bet he said that cause he was having such "trouble" getting the screws off.. bastards.. tell him to go back to working on K-Cars.

LOL the guy who installed your intake is a ****ing moron. I'd be cautious, he might not even be worthy of installing intakes.

resetting the ECU

If you have a clock or something in your car that you don't feel like resetting, it's better to unplug the ECU fuse than the negative battery terminal. This is located in the fuse box under the hood. it's a big green square thing. it does the same thing.
