I had the same problem with 29k on mine. I broke down and bought new NAPA pads ($40), and discovered that it was just crud in the pad. The stock pads have 2 grooves in them.

Since I took the pads off, I replaced them anyway. You need a 14mm and 17mm wrench, pliers, wood block, and grease. All told, it took 23 minutes to do the repair.

Keep in mind when you stop, your suspension is also doing its job as well while your wheels slow down so some of that shudder is due to suspension travel.

Well I was on my way into work today...and it seems that slowing down from about 40mph didnt give me all that much shutter/vibration but when I would get it up to about 60-70 and try to slow dow I was getting Vibrations in the pedals and in the stering wheel etc...the brakes on this car were changed about 2-3 months ago and shouldnt already be worn down I have about 28K miles on the car also. So do i just need to take some money and get the rotars turned? or on the other note can semi bald tires on the front cause the vibrations while slowing down...since I have been tryin to hold out on getting new tires so I can just get some new tires with my new rims when the FINALLY come in...?

Good luck with it all - I'd suggest trying some non-balled, balanced wheels and tires... Discount Tire gets like $20 for a rotation and balance... seems like a good deal to me.
