Unhappy Feels like rotors are warped.

I have almost 16,000 miles on my Lancer and when you hit the brakes I feel a slight vibration. I am thinking the rotors are warped. Feels really weird to have the vibration go thru the break pedal.

Got the same problem. I'm going to buy a big brake kit though. IT feels like they are lipped. The rotors that is. But the brake pads are still at over 80%. Dunno.

Warped Rotors - One Cause

I see that in most instances here, we are dealing with OZ's. One critical maintenance issue, often overlooked, is the proper torquing of the cast wheels. Aluminum, while lighter, is stiffer than a steel wheel and less forgiving. You get some tire jockey running those lug nuts up tight with his airgun set at 150 lb-ft and you can warp the rotors. Check your owners manual for the proper torque spec - usually between 80 and 100 lb-ft. Find a shop that is willing to take the time to use a torque wrench and do it properly. Hope this helps.

Adios,

Fusoguy

Just to add to Fusoguy, the Lancer specs (according to America's Tire Co.) on alloy rims is 85 ft/lb

My vibration was at high speeds when you apply brake pedal you could feel vibration in the pedal.

did you check the air in the tires too? You can make your rotors last long if you wash your car when the car/brakes are cold. My pops said washing the car hot makes the rotors warp faster. Sometimes new rotors (regular ones i.e. OEM) cost the same as taking them to a machine shop.
