When i turn my lights on the alternator starts making a strange clicking sound. I was just wondering if anyone has had trhis problem other then me.

 

yes, i hear that clicking sound too. but i dont know what the hell it is?

 

i thought mayve it was happening because of my system but the i unhookec the power to the subs and it still did it

 

Well does it only do it when the car is running? If that is the case you better pull it out and check the brushes.

 

does it click constantly or just once or twice when you turn on your lights? if it is constant, have it checked, if it does it only a once or twice, it may just be the alternator kicking on/off as power drain varies throughout the car.

 

It does it constantly when the lights are on. I wouldnt think the alternator would be going out already though because i have only had the car for about 2 months. I guess i could have a bad alternator from the factory

 

hmm, i dont think so, but the fact if you hav ethe drforster on and the stereo, if you have one. crap, im really drunk right now and i dont know why im on the forumm. anyway, it oculd just be large amounts of power drain and the alternater is kicking on/off.

 

mine does it too. even w.out the system. It's the worst when the AC is on. sounds like a diesel engine. It pisses me off when I'm at mcdonalds and I can't run my AC cause it's soo damned loud.
