Most likely a coil pack then! You said your sister had a lancer?? Take her coil packs and put them on your car and see if it fires up! If your not getting spark then thats the first place to look!

Thanks for the help, ya'll. I'll be posting more when I get my car back to tell what was wrong. Probably something small that is going to cost me an arm and my first born(which i dont even have yet).

Okay, the dealership tells me that there is no compression in any of the cylinders which confuses me. New pistons 20 over with new compression rings correctly installed. New valve springs and head had a valve job. The car has not even been started since i put it back together. Well, i guess i am going to start by taking the head off. Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

Oof. That usually means valves.

Hummmm.......are you getting spark yet??? I would get it sparking before you took it apart. We are on a totally different page if they say compression. I dont like going to the dealership, they dont know ****!! I would check the compression your self. Did a machine shop put your motor together?? Were the pistons made for a 20 over bore or were they for the normal setting?

Id get all the plugs sparking and then check compression myself!

Yes they were made for a 20 bore. The dealership says i have spark but very little. My compression is 0 for all cylinders. I bought just a regular head gasket. It didnt have to be 20 over too, did it? The head just had a valve job and the dot on my cam was at the 1030 position when cylinder #1 was at TDC when i did the timing. GRR. I got army stuff tommorrow but im going to work on the car a bit on sunday. Any help again would be much appreciated. thanks.

I know what your problem is:

valves. I'm willing to bet you put your intake valves on the exhaust side and vice versa. Ask me how I know

Well, the machine shop put my head together not me. They port and polished my head 3 years ago this summer so I am almost positive they did it right. I will find out sunday i guess. I am going to check the rockers and valve springs. I did do the timing correctly right? with cylinder #1 at TDC and the dot on the cam gear at 1030.

I don't think gasket orientation matters much.

You said you had a "valve job". What did they do to the valves? remove them to multiangle grind them (and then reinstall them)?
When I took the head off of my spare engine to port it, I managed to get the intake valves on the exhaust side. They're almost the same size and on the head they look like they're correct. But when you compare them to a head with the correct valves on their proper side you see immediately that there's a difference and you will get no compression because the valves aren't sealing.

Basic timing has the crank at about 8BTDC and the cam notch at 10:30 sounds about right.

wait, you said cam notch? I aligned it based on the dot which is about 10-15 teeth away. So which should i have it at, the dot or the notch? I have an aftermarket adjustable cam gear. They did remove the valves because i got new springs and valve seals. How would i tell if i turned the head over?

If timing was off, would that cause zero compression in all cylinders? If i take off the intake and spray some starting spray in the intake manifold, and then start it, stuff comes out the intake. Same thing happened to my buddies car and it was timing that was wrong so it seems that might be my problem. So I need to know if you align the cam according to the notch or the dot.
