MEH! Once again, a lost race that I should have won. All due to the fact that my 2nd gear wont engage!

My problem is that whenever im in a race, I go to shift from 1st to 2nd gear and the 2nd gear doesnt engage! It gets stuck while shifting in so im left in neutral and all I hear are my revs going up.

Anyone know any fixes to help this? I should have won... I was off the line faster and accelerating a lot faster >.<

How many miles are on your lancer? My stick was very tight for about the first 8-10k miles, so you had to put a little extra loving force to get it into gear (and second was the stickiest), but now it shifts rather smoothly. This was also the case with my friend and his Lancer OZ. Hope that halps.

btw, you should go to the SCLC meet in San Diego

Wierd thing about my car... ive got 17k miles on it. Bought it used, thats why I guess the owner before me never drove it hard? Heh.

I had the same problems with my Eclipse GST. Hell, just shove the bastard in there. I was always prepared to shift hard everytime I hit second to make sure it snuck in there. As long as it doesnt grind, it should be okay (i think)
