Its highly unlikely that its something grinding in you exhaust seeing as how there’s no moving parts to actually grind... is it a grinding or screeching? might be your belts slipping... does it happen during acceleration or driving full speed at high rpms?

hmmm...no screeching the only i can describe it is rattling/grinding. well...think about as if your rubbing 2 coins really fast. thats what it sounds like to me...and i dun think its the belt slipping i checked everything yesterday and it turns out good, but i noticed sumthin when i let my cousin start my car, my exhaust is rattling a lil bit'' on cold start...it might be the bracket or sumthin' else???

I just put on my new header and im also getting a "ricey" rattling when i push the engine...havent looked into it much, but my guess in my case is that i have a leak at the downpipe, im gonna try and throw some of that silicone gasket maker in and see if that doesnt take care of it...ill let you know how it goes

I know you have an evo but my car does this too when I step on the throttle in the rain. I know I can feel it comming from buy my muffler. But only when it rains.??!!?

GREAT NEWS TO EVERYOnE! i finally figured it out, y my exhaust is makin the HONDA Sound muffler hahaha. its the straight pipe i did, yeah yeah i know it took a while to figure out. so i put back my resonator back and voila no more ricey rattling/grinding sound nemore. so if everyone out there took out their resonator and complaining y is it making that sound. Put your resonator back on..peace

uh... lemme get this right. I think you mean that you removed the cat and replaced it with straight thru piping correct? Then you re-installed the cat and the sound is now lessened? Well originally i had header, cat, muffler and it made the buzzing sound at high rpms. Got a "resonator" installed after the cat and now i got no buzzing at all. Might look into this if the you get the same buzzing at high rpms. Just a thought good luck

yeah it got into me and it is annoying...no my cat was originally intact, but i took out my resonator and then i put a straight pipe with Cat fully intact. the buzzing sound started when i put the RRM Header, prolly lots of air now flowing out of my exhaust hence makin that sound. Then i just figured that i should put back my resonator back on.
