Lancer AUX Ports....bad sound?

Has anyone tried to put an iPOD into their AUX ports yet? I got really bad sound when I tried it, like sound only coming out of one side of the speakers. Im going to try more devices soon but anyone else have this problem?

Also...the guy at the dealership claimed that the little silver "input" or whatever it is on the lower left side of the DVD/Nav screen (not visible when closed when screen is closed) was also an iPOD hookup. This can't be right...right?

that can't be a functional input, unless it's meant to run with the screen open which would be dumb as hades. And I noticed the aux input isn't the cleanest either. The system definately shows how bad high compression MP3s can sound, that's for sure.

Mine sounds fine, the only thing is if there is a long silence in a song you can sort of hear a faint "whirrrr" sound but that is only if the volume on the stereo is up really loud.

I use a Belkin mini to RCA cable that I got from Walmart for 5 bucks. It has been the best 5 bucks I have spent in a while.

Mine sounds great, unless there's nothing plugged into it. Then I get some good static.

Yeah, iPod should always be at 50-75% volume when it's being run through a cable or adapter like that.

I am using the Microsoft Zune and I put it basically to 18 and turn off all Equalizers Pre set. But when I power it off I hear a slight buzzing noise. Which ususally sounds like the power to the stereo is dirty. Basically I am having the same problem.

When I turned off the iPod today, I got a static as well. So if the MP3 player is off, make sure you're set to CD or radio.

The sound quality leaves something to be desired, personally. I set the iPod volume to 75% and plugged it in and the volume was much lower than the CD I had been listening to. I had to bump the volume up 5 notches...

I have had no issues with my aux ports or my iPod or Xbox360 that I plugged into it. So far so good.

Where are the AUX ports located? I have an ES and displays AUX when I hold down the CD button for 3 seconds, meaning I have the capability to use the AUX. Just need to add the port. Any pics would help too.

Thanks.

They AUX ports should be located just under the climate controls in that area by the ash tray way in the back.
