Just got back from a 3000km road trip from Edmonton to Vancouver and back.

Fuel consumption on the highway was slightly better than my normal day to day driving. I had to fill up about 6 times I think.. Most tanks of fuel averaged about 7.6 L / 100km on the highway. One tank was as low as 6.3 L /100km, but that was coming down the Rocky Mountains.

Seemed to me that driving 115km/h as opposed to 120 km/h makes a considerable difference as well regarding fuel economy. Going 115 seemed to use about 0.3-0.5 L/100km less than going 120.

I was getting at least 600 km out of each tank when driving on the highway.

It was a different story in downtown Vancouver....

Sounds about the same on this end but I have a 5 speed so I think we rev a little higher at 120.

When i went from Vernon to Calgary and back I averaged around 7.5

Do you have a white or graphite grey one? I saw a couple rolling around venron with AB plates on em.

Poor mileage in GTS CVT 17.5-18 MPG

Hello folks,

I have had my GTS for about months now and love everything about it except the fuel mileage.

I babied it the first 1500 miles. rarely if ever getting it above 3000 RPM. I gradually pushed the engine after that but still rarely really romp on it. It seems no matter how I drive I still only get 17.5 to 18 MPG. I usually get about 260 miles to a tank. I called the dealership about it and they said yeah 18-22 was expected but I think that the service guy thought that I was talking about an EVO at that point.

Anyway, I am curious what others are getting from their cars now. This thread has been dead for a while.

Oh BTW. I always use the rec'd 87 octane, have changed the oil twice, recently with a blended synthetic and now have 4500 miles on the odo. Yeah, I don't drive many miles. My driving is mainly city mixed with occasional highway speeds.

O_o i think I get about.... like.. 600km a tank?

It's all int he city... but i get an average speed of like... 50km/h usually? and then the car tells me i have like 7L / 100km or something...

Can't tell you exact numbers for a full tank cause i fill up at half tank. but that's usually close to 300 so.....

edit- forgot to mention, most of the in city driving is on high ways so it's pretty much like i'm going on some long trip to somewhere

I hate my gas gauge... Ill fill it up and itll jump from 600 km to 700km back n forth.. or Ill throw in half a tank and it will bounce from 280km to like 360km its just not accurate whatsoever.. and you know its wrong when your driving and ur gauge goes UP! lol
then on top of it, it goes blank at 50km... o_O I want to know when i have 5km left! not impressive for an 08

I usually average about 27-28 mpg. During the winter I was closer to the 18-22 range because of idling time to warm up the car and slower traffic on the ice covered roads.

Finest, maybe all your mods give you a bit better mileage - maybe I can show that to my fiance to help 'justify' the costs of some more aftermarket parts....

lol, thats what i did with my fiance as well . I know for sure the intake gave me 2 more mpg for sure. i keep a reciept of everytime i filled up since the day i bought the car just to keep track of how much cash i spend on gas and how efficent the car is.

I'm averaging about 20MPG in ~heavy~ L.A. city traffic. Though, I still haven't ticked over 1000miles yet. That will probably happen within the next two tanks of gas.

the gauge will go up if your avg at that time goes down. and it stops counting down at 50 probably for legal reasons, like if it said you had 10 kms left and you got stranded then you could blame mitsu for it.

During regular driving, commuting, etc. (which is not quite city, not quite highway) I'm consistently getting 26 to 29 MPG. That's measured by dividing the miles between fill-ups by the gallons of gas I just put in. On a recent 2,400 mile trip to Florida I got 31 or 32 MPG on each tank.

I've had the car for eight months and 12,500 miles.

By the way, the MPG numbers that my computer tells me are pretty consistent with the numbers that I calculate myself.
