fuel average consumption...
I don't know how you guys get good numbers out of this computer !
If I stay still at a stop, it's gonna tell me my average speed is really low because it seems to be counting the stop at 0km/h !
On the highway, I go at 120. I press the reset button. It tell me : 112 and stay still.. what the ? So I,m really not taking the numbers it give me as true..
Btw i get about 10-11 L / 100km mixed,(and I'm soft with the pedal) not really impressed. I was getting better gas mileage with my old turbo volvo that was 300lbs more and plenty more powerfull.
To be honest, I don't understand why this can happen in a 2008 car that is supposed to have pretty decent engine technologie that is called itself a econobox... :S

yup premium. when gas is about $3 for 91 (we don't have 93 in cali) it takes about $40 to fill the tank.
if i'm not boostin too much and drive moderate, i get about 250 miles before empty
lol but i'm always in boost so i'm more around 200 till empty if im lucky

^ i did the same thing i just got back from my drive to florida lol.
And yes my avg calculator on my car is really acurate. but i go by miles / gallons to fill up. ( 350/12.2 =28.7mpg example)

08 Lancer fuel tank is like 60 litre, everytime i fillup the gas tank it cost 64CAD, jesus christ~
in the other brand same class vehicle, they mostly have 55 litre tank only, and they could run sameor even higher higher mileage than us
so i would say new lancer not doing good on the fuel consumption, mainly becuz of the heavy body

eh... I didn't expect to have Honda class fuel economy when I bought my car. From reading everything I could about the Lancer before I bought one, I expected to have average to slightly worse than average fuel economy. However, now that I'm nearing 1000 mile mark in my Lancer, I've noticed that my fuel economy is getting better. I averaged ~20MPG until my last tank, which I got 22MPG. So, either the engine is nearly broken in now, or I've been taking it easier with the accelerator than I have been, or both.
Even if I don't have "best in class" fuel economy, I still have better fuel economy than I did in my previous car (it averaged 16MPG), which is a plus in my book.

Hey all,
Thanks for all the replies about your fuel mileage.
Well, obviously, there is something up with my car. It is still getting a steady 18 mpg no matter how I drive. The dealer I bought it from in Austin says I'm getting what I should be getting so my next closest dealers are in the Dallas/Ft. worth area.
Any suggestions on a particularly attentive dealer/service dept. in the DFW area? I am 140 miles from Dallas so I would like to have to make just one trip to one dealer.
To refresh: my car is a 2008 Lancer GTS CVT loaded, 4500 miles, 8 months old, rarely pushed beyond 3000 RPM the 1st 1500 miles. Properly serviced regularly, completely stock and I am still only getting 17.5 to 18 MPG. Calculated by dividing miles per tank by gallons added at fill up.
Thanks again,
Mike

yeah time to find another dealer. thats not normal! God some dealers are idiots. Pretend you are a mechanic, they seem to listen and agree with you more that way...i actually am one...but I do find better responses from techs/service writers.
Better off find a mechanic?! Friends?! And get them to go with you. Hell, even call 1800 mitsu..
