2015 2.4L AWC RVR fuel consumption wonder
Hello there,
I'm wondering how's the fuel consumption of everybody's 2015 2.4L RVR/Outlander Sport/ASX.
I have my 2015 2.4 RVR for 2 months now. The fuel consumption is around 460km (286 Miles) from a full tank of 91 graded gas (in Canada) until empty (no bars showing in the fuel indicator).
Is it just me or you all have the similar gas mileage? It's nowhere close to what the official spec said, which is CVT - Combine - 9.7L/km x 60L tank = 582km / 2.6MPG x 15.8Gal = 410.8 mil.

If it's anything like the 2.0L then, I'd say you'll have to wait til you rack up some more miles (everywhere between 1,700 - 3,800) for the CVT to break-in and start to give better MPGs.
Look at my SIG below, 2nd from the bottom for more details.

To jono119: I drive pretty conservatively as a grammpa these days since the car is still in the break in period. I don't wanna push it too hard just yet. And I drive with 2WD all the time.
But as per mRVRsport, sounds like the CVT needs some break in period itself as well. Good to know... I will just wait and see then. And I will read through the "Best MPG in Stock configuration" thread you have up there.

Ya it takes a while. I average 520ish kms per tank now on 87. Just recently switched to 91 and am hoping to see what kind of difference it'll make even though I'm not aiming for better fuel economy. I'm currently at 24,500 kms on a 2.0L.
Just let it break in.

Besides, when I fill up, the pump stopped at 50L (or 53 sometimes). I understand that there should be some left over in the tank, you will never fill up 60L exactly... but I mean, 8L to 10L different while the fuel indicator telling me that the tank is empty. Really?
I probably can still squeeze some more mileage before filling up then...

There is empty and then there is empty. On the Pathfinder, once the 0 kms to empty goes on I have 30 kms (18 miles) to dry. The RVR seems to have a better reserve.

Yeah, that I believe, there is always quite a bit of juice left when the indicator says "empty", but I'm afraid to dry it out till the "real empty" moment come at me.. ha ha...
I should carry a small bottle of spare gas in the trunk for "mileage testing" sake...

Getting about 520-530 km per full tank, all city driving. Almost 10,000 km on the car. I keep it in 2wd most of the time unless its rains. So much better than my Ralliart (but nowhere near as fun).

I dunno why it is, but some cars of the same vintage seem to get significantly different gas mileage. Our Pathfinder for instance. Others don't report anywhere near what we get. And I am lead footed driver in the Rockies.

I bought my 2.4L GT AWD new at the end of June with 35 miles on it. I've been averaging about 25-26 mpg per tank since I got it and I now have just over 3,000 miles. I have a 48 mile round trip commute and average about 75 mph for two thirds of that commute.
