hesitating and loss of power, already?
well its still doing this, and i figured id update. sometimes its real bad, like i will floor it, and its as if i never even touched the gas, it will just sit there and not do anything til it makes up its mind and decides to go. sometimes its fine, and will go as soon as i touch the gas, but that is usually when i first start the car in the morning, but after it warms up thats when it does it, and its annoying and it could be dangerous, like if i tried to pull out onto a busy highway expecting to go, and it just sits there moving as if i were pushing the car, i could be hit by someone because the car wouldnt go fast enough to pull out. its so annoying, i freakin hate it because i know something isnt right, it shouldnt do this, but the dealer says its just a characteristic of the car, thats bull crap, i think the tranny is screwed up, or something with the stupid wireless throttle...
i believe the cvt does do a good job of learning driving techniques, but i dont think your problem is with the transmission, it only hesitates when it is warm??? it sounds like a problem with the throttle positioning sensor... especially with a cableless throttle the tps is extremely important... i strongly recommend that you stick to your guns with your dealer and insist that they drive with you in your car, and then in a car off the lot, and then once they see the difference, have them test the tps...
oh there was a guy who drove my car with me in it, he said he didnt notice anything, even tho i could feel it doing it. he said he also drove another one that was on the lot, and it did the same thing, which means he didnt notice anything with that one either. its going up for an oil change in a few weeks, ill have them look at it again, and mention the TPS and have them check the voltage on it to see if its in range or not
The CVT/ECU are learning. This means it records your patterns of throttle input, manual shifting, etc. If you think it learned 'badly', pull the cable on the battery for 15 minutes then start over. Either way, you have to be consistent in how you use the car. For myself and my wife i have to get on her to drive it like I do... other wise I can tell if I haven't driven it for a while and she has, it's far more pokey and gentle on shifting, etc.
the lancer has no low RPM power, u want low RPM power supercharge it, u want power just downshift... half throttle to almost full throttle is the same feel, i dont know if the new lancers have the custom map for full throttle or not.
The problem is sometimes you want to baby it and sometimes you need to launch it. If it keeps learning what you WERE doing then It never knows what you want to do in the future and you have to keep training it.
Is there a way to just set it up and keep it that way? The lancer is always driving in the past mode and never ready for whats next.

INVECS III is always making changes its not just a one shot deal like "Ok I learned while you were driving like granny and now your stuck" you guys seem to be stuck on this "learning" thing. It is always changing. Its an active system it is always recalibrating. The point of it is to anticipate your input. If you want to go fast just floor it, it will do its job the way its supposed to. This is a pretty effective system, its not as stupid as people make it sound. Just jab the gas every once in a while
If this is the case about this Transmission learning then they should have a switch to turn it off.
I mean, i think there is a difference between when my girlfriend takes it for 500km and i do. when i get the car back from her. I notice more engine breaking. Vs. me I dont require alot of engine braking and see that the car coasts more. But i am also passive on the gas as well. so when i need that friggin thing to go. I have to replant my foot.
Either a ECON Vs. Power mode switch needs to be put in.
Or take the AI out of the picture all together and restore the throttle to dead stupid. When i want gas, I mean HAUL ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I've experienced the exact same thing you described, with a slight variation....
I had that problem with a 1984 Buick Regal... Although that was caused with by the carburator, I know exactly how frustrating that is... When you floor it and nothing happens, try and let off by about 1/2 throttle and see if that kicks it in faster. If the engine isn't revving differently when you floor it, that shouldn't be a problem with the tranny, cause the tranny doesn't have anything to do with RPMs, unless these new age cars are made completely differently from the way they were 10 years ago...
If I noticed that on my Lancer I'd be immediately suspect of either the spark plugs, distributor or fuel pump ... But I really don't know all that much about the mechanics of cars.. Just my .02

first off, i would like to say hello to everyone, im new to the site, but not to dsm's. ive had 2 2gnt eclipses before this lancer.
anyways, i dont know if anyone else is having this problem or not, but its a GTS with with cvt and fast key, but like if im stopped, or crusing, and give the car gas, it will hesitate for a second, almost feels like a misfire, then it will go again, but will feel sluggish and have no power, and i have to floor it just to get it to go. it also seems like if i give it a little bit of gas, it isnt doing anything at all? the rpms dont move, or maybe just enough to notice the needle move... perhaps the throttle cable is loose or something?
its only got 400 miles right now, and ive had it for 2 weeks now, and its been doing it for most of the time. i even got into an arguement with my gf over it, she was yelling sayin the car is fine, its brand new, and if i do anything to screw it up, she will never talk to me again, then i let her drive it just because she wants to, and lo and behold, she says the exact same thing, so im not just crazy

These cars have an electronic throttle plate that couldn't be the problem. Like everyone else is saying what you need to do is just drive the car with a service writer or manager from your dealership Make sure you are driving it and point it out to him and then drive another one with him and prove the differences.

Its a CVT which means just because you hit the gas, doesnt mean it will rev higher, the ratios may be changing but not necessarily the RPMs...has no one noticed you can reach 0-60 MPH in the same RPM?? it only raises rpm when the tranny cant accelerate quickly and effeciently by changing ratios
try it when there is no one around, hit the gas (moderately, not hard) and I forget what RPM it is but the car will keep accelerating but you dont hear engine speed change at all
This gives the impression that the car is not providing power because you dont hear the motor rpm go up
