I am rolling with a CVT and am not getting such a noise.
I have been hearing about this lately. There has been a few posts about this and i am not sure what the end result was. If you look around you might find that forum.
You def should get that checked out, tho.

 

dont think so but Im kind of excited at the possibilities with CVT. Right now the ratios are closely spaced together. When you shift at high rpms it shifts to next gear and stays up high instead of dropping low.

But since these ratios are computer controlled, they should be able to be arranged to your liking with some kinda piggy back or aftermartket ECU. In theory you can choose whatever you want like Gran Turismo haha and imagine if you can select on the fly.

so you can have one mode for acceleration and one for top speed... anyone else think this might be possible? probably good to have this CVT topic in new thread though


But anyway, back to the subject, I have driven my car to about 85 and never heard any kind of noise, but i was in auto mode. Ill have to check in man mode

hello everyone!

im getting the same weird noise.. it's probably coming from the sunroof.
I only hear it when the "first roof" is open (not the real glass sunroof).

So yeah , i'm also hearing these weird squeaks from my sunroof and it pisses me off!!

I brought my car to the dealer twice to fix that probem and all he did was lubrifying it...

 

6th gear is a cruising gear that doesnt really cruise too well because you can get a lower rpm cruise out of just normal drive. And as far as adjusting CVT ratios that would be mmm sexy as well as a Mivec controller <3. Some day...

I never had this problem, and I was up to 100 mph. I had it in auto though, not the manual, so I don't know. I'll try it the next time I'm on the highway and see if it happens with me too.

 

You know, cellphones now adays have really good mics now and can pick up alot of sounds, try recording it.

your tranny shouldnt be making noises that sound that violent. Since we are talking about varrible pully bands and not actual gears its very worry some that your getting that. It could be a fault in tranny, did you ever see your check engine light come on and go away ever, even on start up, did it last longer then normal?

keep an eye on it.
