Paint Rubbing Off - What to do?
Paint Rubbing Off - What to do?
Hey Folks,
So it seems like paint is actually rubbing off on a few places between two panels. What do you think I can get the dealer to do?
Are they going to just touch it up, or will I be able to get them to somehow repaint the entire panel (since I have stone chips near it, ha ha).

Seroius? I got it from Markham Mitsu as well.
I just went for my oil change today and to do the recall. No lineups and it was done pretty quickly.
I had them shuttle me home since they said it should take about 2 hours b/c of the recall, but they were done in a little over an hour.
As for the paint issue, they noted it on my service receipt, took pictures and sent them to head office for a claim.
I have to wait for them to hear back from head office to see what happens... definitely let them know and get them to file a claim...
I'll let you know how it goes.
Kevin.

most of the time they will try to spot touch the affected areas... most dealerships have a seperate company they contract out to do it... dent repairs, chips, scratchs etc.
however that looks like it's actually peeling off with no adhesion... personally I'd push VERY hard to have the whole piece repainted .. I'm guessing that's the plastic bumper? chances are the primer/paint etc didn't bond properly to the plastic.

Just got a call from the dealership - they just had approval from head office to take it to the body shop under warranty.
Not too sure on what they're doing to it yet, probably get more details closer to when I drop it off on Aug. 21st. (out of town 22-25 so i thought that was best time).

either that or we're the only ones who bought from markham mitsu who are on here...
I got my GTS from Oakville Mitsu....so far so good, no paint problem yet.
Although I still haven't received any letter/phone call regarding the recall, should I contact them directly?
