So you mean Let the clutch slide aka. let it slip and not let it engage?

From what you described it could be either clutch chatter or an engine problem. Does it shake as you let out the clutch or once the clutch is all the way out? But because you say it only happens in 1st it sounds like a clutch problem to me.

It's as I'm letting it out... would it not "chatter" as soon as it warms up like it does now?

I just got finished changing the tranny fluid, holy cow it was dirty....
I'd say never been changed considering I bought it when it had 48,000 or so miles, cant remember... but anywho, I'm goin to go out tomarrow driving it around as soon as the wifey gets home to watch the baby, so ill holler at yall then and tell yall bout it.

Sounds like it's an after market clutch and yes some work better with a little heat in them. There very well could be some contamination on it as well and burning some of that off may help it, but if it doesn't slip and you can live with it I would just leave it alone.

start in second gear once or twice, it'll slip. with 60,000 miles it's most likely on it's third clutch.

ROflmao, what are you talking about.........How on earth could you say "on its third clutch with 60000 miles? A clutch under normal wear will last 100,000 miles easy. I have put 160,000 miles on a clutch, and used it pretty heavily.

Anyways, now that we got that outta the way.
Changed tanny fluid, drove aroud all day today, an nothing...Woot, hopfully that took care of it. Never did I feel a stutter, jerk, sputter, shake, nothing. So lets keep our fingers crossed that that was it.

Thank you all for your help. And no offense fireman, just can't see "third cluch" not till like 400,000 miles and ill never make it there.

I don't care what kind of car it is-- Three clutches in 60,000 miles means someone can't drive!

Anyway, from what he describes, it's an engine issue, and occurs when the engine is under load with the clutch fully engaged.

Are any codes present?

Nope, no codes. And it's when im letting the slutch out, not under a full load. I changed the tranny fluid, it has gotten better. But i can still feel a slight studder, but not like before. Any comments?

mcgarvey glad you spent the time to read. 20K for an evo clutch is about average for most people that do autocross and track days.
