Lancer GTS Navigation System Day/Night contrast

Hello everyone! My girlfriend picked up a Lancer GTS with navi recently, and we're having some problems with the NAV system. Mitsu tech's aren't understanding what we're trying to tell them, and there is only one dealership in town.

The nav system isn't properly switching between day/night mode and it's very difficult to see at times. Could someone that has the nav system take a picture of it in day mode and in night mode so I can show the tech's what it should look like?

Also - her distance to empty and fuel level gauges weren't working at all, so they replaced the fuel level sending unit. However, now her distance to empty bounces between 220 and 230 miles back and forth seemingly without reason. In my Nissan truck, DTE is a fairly steady decline as I drive. Is the mitsu behaving normally or do you think there is still something wrong with the fuel level sending unit?

thanks!

^This ^ There is an "Auto" setting on the MMCS so that the screen will be in day mode while the headlights are off and night mode while the headlights are on. If this doesn't work, there is a restore defaults option that you can try.

It is set to auto. I have changed it manually to day/night and then back to auto. We have tried it with the headlights on/off as well.

have not tried the restore defaults yet.

that distance to empty bounces by the way you drive..the computer calculates it by the average miles per gallon and then figures out how long you can go to empty... so if you go 25mpg you will get a bigger number than when it says ur getting 17mpg soo it varies..

yeah, that's what i figured. My nissan doesn't bounce around quite so much, but i figured it had to do with driving style.

It's definitely just the computers and how they calculate it. I once filled up before a ride back to Philly from Pittsburgh and while I was in cruise control the meter eventually told me I had 500 miles left. It was something around 300 when I left.
