A'PEXi S-AFC

hey everyone, i just installed my S-AFC, and i am having a rough idle. i am idling at about 590-690 rpms. the settings are default, so im not sure what the problem is. im almost guessing the the ECU has to learn about the new hardware. any advice would be awesome.

yes, the only reason i hadnt had it tuned right then is because i hadnt had the time. it is now tuned, and still idles roughly.

That idle strikes me as a shade to low...try going to about 700~ RPM. Make sure you're not leaning out to much at idle as well. Run searches by other members (uranium9v and rhyzin off the top of my head) for some of their numbers.

Alway Karmen.

If you are stumbling at idle, drop the low setting a bit. Too rich. If you have a digi O2 meter, it should be boucing beyond 1.000 . . . at .996, the motor will stumble.

From the list of mods, catback and SRI, you have nothing to tune for and you ought to leave it alone. If you need an excuse to use your AFC (like me) start fooling with the MAS, the set screw and the restrictor plate (Rhyzin has had some success with the plate) just dont ruin it, it comes apart just be nice but be prepared for some really crazy settings. Before all that I had no numbers bigger that +-6% After the adjustment of the screw my idle (1000 low) is like +19% now and it goes down from there, there is'nt a whole lot of leaning to do on High Throttle cuz you are already pulling more air than stock.

thats a great place for show, but i was thinkin(tho i haven't done it yet) was to loosen the right screw that holds the gauge window in place and use the hinged mount that came with the safc and mount it to that so it its a little above and to the right of the steering wheel.

this piece is a great addition anywhere you put it...
