M.M.C.S Handsfree
M.M.C.S Handsfree
Whats up guys, Im new to the scene just bought a 2008 lancer ES(Stupid me didnt realize there was a gts when I bought it) But anyway I have the M.M.C.S navi and I am trying to use the handsfree feature, When I try to use it, it says that it is locked and I must provide a password to use the handsfree feature(everything else works fine). I followed the instructions in the owners manual where it says to say setup after pressing the handsfree button and the system continues saying "handsfree system locked please enter passcode".
I called the dealer and they said that the car had been used as a demo by a previous salesman and he must have set the passcode, and they tell me they dont know how to reset it.
Any Ideas?
And yes I do have the Bluetooth option.

I don't have the nav so I'm not sure if there is a way to reset it, but my suggestion is this: Take it back to the dealer and tell them to f'n fix it or put in a new one because that's what they sold you. "Sorry, we don't know," is not an acceptable response from the dealer, especially when it was one of them that locked it. They need to remedy that.... fast. It's entirely on them.
Took it to the dealership and they stated that they displayed the car at the auto and boat show(Which was not disclosed to me when purchased) and they said it must have been set by someone then, They tried to unlock it and they said it is not possible to bypass or reset the system, They put in a service ticket for it and they called Mitsu, they stated that they must replace the entire system. Mitsu stated that it was a flaw on earlier models but the new ones now have a way to reset them.

how long has it been since u bought the lancer. i would see if there was a way to do a return..most have 30 day returns n such, get the newer model and not worry bout little things happening in the long run, especially if this was deemed theyre show car...
Just curious, what dearlership are you dealing with? Also, since they didn't disclose that it a display car at an auto/boat show, you might want to go over every inch of that car and check for any flaw that may have been caused by people looking at it.
