Squeaking exhaust

Hi all,

I drive a bone-stock 2003 Lancer OZ with 44,000 miles on it. Recently my car has developed an obnoxious squeak from the rear. I initially assumed it was suspension related, however the noise is not present until the car gets up to operating temperature (leading me to believe it is exhaust related). The fist few blocks I drive, it doesn't make a sound. As soon as the car is warm though, it squeaks like crazy. Just simply rolling down the road at < 20mph the squeak is present. It is also very noticeable when initially accelerating (it's a 5-speed). I am convinced it is the exhaust because it only happens when the pipes get hot and expand. Also, it seems to be coming from the back of the car, toward the passenger side. If I were to inspect the exhaust what would be a good thing to look for? I have a feeling the connection between the catalytic converter and the muffler is where the problem is. Is there any sort of high temperature grease or anything I can apply to try and silence the squeak? Could it be an exhaust hanger? Any other thoughts? Anyone ever have a similar problem? It's driving me nuts!!

It's almost certainly the lower control arm bushings. There's a TSB on it for exactly what you describe.
