OMG! Accidently drove through a FLOODED ROAD with my CAI...
hey coda u are one luck sob man
i wasn't so lucky with my civic a few months ago. i had the AEM CAI on. one day on my way home, it started to rain like hell, i felt the wrath of god...
u uknow how when u go under an highway there's always water, well there happen to be like 8inches of water adn when i went through it, i can hear my engine choking on water. luckily it didn't just stop there and was able to get home, but just when i was about to stop the engine it gurgled choked abit more and then stalled.
my engine just died there man. and it would no longer start. i had to tow it. the mechanic told me that i had hydrolock...yep...this is what happens when u try to compress water instead of air.
they had to pump the water out and i had to pay a few big 100$ bills to repair it.
chances are actually very rare, like coda sez, but it can happen, so guys dont be ignorant when it rains alot. just a tip.
even tho i just got the bypass valve, i would never hit the acceleration when going through the puddle, less chances of sucking water into the intake manifold.
