downshift from 5th to 4th?

when i down shifted from 5th to 4th today at around 100km/hr...55-60mph
after i rev matched i release the clutch right....then the tacho flew to 5.5k!!!
wtf? so i jamed the clutch right away and put it back in 5th

later i was driving 60km/ 35mph...shift...3rd to 4th...normal....4th to 5th...normal
downshift w/ rev match 5th to 4th...normal....4th to 3rd normal

wtf? any one encoutered that problem? it only happened to me once is it possible i didnt put my gear all the way in?.....second possiblity is i downshifted to 2nd but thats very unlikely

any info as to what lead to that may help

but u know what i did scare the **** out of a 4door civic lol
some lady's been tailing me on the highway for like the past minute and she was going to over take me so she changed lanes to my left, so i down shifted from 5 to what i thought was 4...then i guess i poped it into 2 by accident but my engine went to 5.5k and though it was a stock exhaust it was pretty loud and the lady turned and look at me instantly and slowed down haha....she though i was going to race her so she slow down and got back behind me and stopped tailing me hahah

There should be a block of some sort that prevents 5th to 2nd downshifts, same like you can't shift from 4th to 1st....

I found the best thing to do i dont shift into the wrong gear like from 5th to 4th is to let the shifter sit in neutral quicky then shifting down to 4th insted of trying to find the gear
