Clutch problem?

I know many Evo owners have had problem with their clutchs, is there any regular Lancer owner having problems? I'm asking because I think I do have a problem.

Often, when I'm going down the highway I can smell that burned clutch smell. The first time I thaught it was the girl in front of me burning her clutch, but after many times

It often does it when I'm on cruise contol, and there is no changing gear there. Anybody know what might be wrong?

Cruise control doesn't have anything to do with your clutch, in fact if you push in your clutch just a little your cruise will shut off. Does it ever slip? how many miles do you have on it? do you ride it or beat it? Chances are its going, but wait untill it starts to slip during spirited driving (5k rpms).

I know it has nothing to do with with the clutch. I was just pointing that out to tell it smells when I'm not shifting at all.

I couldn't tell if it's slipping or not. I never experienced a slipping tranny, so I have no idea. I drove it hard for while, but I've been really easy on it for the past 2 months.

Should I take it to the dealer and ask them to change the clutch?

You should take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Don't tell them what you think it is.

Let them know that the car will stink under normal driving while in a high gear.

Play dumb. Don't give them stuff to blame on you by saying you drove it hard or that you're worried about the clutch.
