I noticed today while my car is idle... it makes a low thumping noise under the hood... and i turn off the ac to check if its jus my ac but its still there... so i put my car in Park and its gone... but then i put it to drive and its back... anyone have any suggestions on wat it might be (by the way its an auto if you haven't guessed already)

 

SOUNDS LIKE YOU AND THE GUY WITH HIS BAD ROD NEED TO TALK. BEFORE YOU HAVE A HOLE IN YOUR HOOD.

if it sounds like metal on metal i assure you it is not good

I am getting tired to deal with MITZ dealer.
They always say "everything is normal! This is ok!"
It's bull****!! Lots of crap noise are showing up~

 

if its a kind of tapping noise, then it might be your intake just rattling around, i have so many different noises come from my engine, right now its getting turbo in so we'll see what new ones i get, but yea, lots of fun noises that usually aren't a big deal, if you dont trust mitsu, bring it to a good place to get it checked out, it probably is nothing, but if your like me, you get paranoid about everything with your car

 

if im not mistaken this has been covered before.. my car does the same thing, and any other lancer ive driven does it too, so i would say its normal..........
