new sound? what is it?

Well coming home from work tonight I was coming up on 3 thousand rpms in first and i had my music turned off for the first time in awhile so i was hitting 3 thousand rpms and heard a little clicking noise near the left side of the console or in front of the console. It was weird cause it stoped when i was nearing 4 thousand. Has anyone else heard this?

Well i had that noise for about 6-7,000 miles.. its been there.. i heard it might be the lifters, some other mitsu motors have that sound.. for instance my friend with a eclipse has it.. but his clicking noise seems to be much louder.

I get the clicking noise whenever i try hard acceleration. My dealer says it's normal...but I've owned many cars and this is the first time I hear something like that.
