Looking to buy a lancer
This is quite retarded but I thought I'd ask.
I currently have an evo 9 that I daily drive but would like to retire it for daily driving duties to buy a normal lancer. What are the major issues that the cars have. Will my evo winter wheels fit (same size as normal evo wheels). What kind of mpg does the manual get and what kind of mpg does the auto get.

ok to answer your questions, the evo wheels will not fit on the base lancer as their lug patterns are different. As well a manual lancer will see between 28-35mpg(city/highway) where an auto lancer will see 25-31mpg(city/highway)
Issues?
The main issue is the heater blend door control knob. Check that before purchasing one. It may be a bit stiff, that's ok, but if it's broken you'll be in for some dashboard removal. Front sway bar links tend to break in northern climates, as do rear sway bar brackets (if equipped). Both are easily fixed. As far as drivetrain problems, we really don't have any unless the car has been modified somehow. In pothole country wheel bearings will fail occasionally. Other than that, with normal maintenance, these cars are trouble-free, and very easy to work on.
