service engine soon light
so i have a 03 lancer es 83,000miles. my service engine soon light came on. i went to pull the error code P0135/ H02S11. what is that what should i change or fix. they said its the o2 sensor in the engine bay on the exhaust manifold. any help or experience with this is really appreciated thanks.

With research i found out it was the pre-cat o2 sensor..
Just put it in today... bought a universal Bosch sensor...did some splicing and installed. im POSITIVE i did it correctly... all wires hooked up as per the online instruactions manual from Bosch.
Engine light back on the 2nd time I turned my car on prior.
please help!
did you reset the ecu? You will need to do that to clear the code or have someone clear it with an obd 11 scanner. I was cheap and used the RRM CEL eliminator to pass emissions.
all that a p0135 code is, is a heated o2 sensor circuit that the car isnt seeing.i ran my car like that with that code for over a year before i did some changes and put it back in.

I'm having a code for my first o2 sensor that's giving me fits, it's throwing a P0134, which is "Ckt No Activity Detected, 1/1".
I replaced the sensor, and cleared the code, even reset the ECU, and this code has come back. Anyone have any ideas?
The original sender was fried from my Thermo-tec header wrap causing too much radiant heat, melted through the wiring. ANd in addition to the P0134, it threw a lean code,
which has not shown back up with the new sensor in place...
I've double-wrapped the sensor for the first 10" with thermotec wrap to block the heat, including the sensor after the nut (so only the nut is exposed).
The only thing I can think of is that when the original sensor fried, it took out something with it?
I'm hoping it's something simple and not a problem with the ECU... When i reset the ECU, it only stayed cleared for 7.9 miles.
When I reset the code it threw again within 2miles of driving...
Any help would be great.

alrighty, well, I'm going to rip off the thermo-tec and see if that solves the issue, hopefully i can reset it and the o2 sensor isn't completely fried. I'll post any results in here in case anyone else has the same issues
I need help. My cat is rattling like its hitting the ground.
how old is your car? the second one almost rotted off of mine within 7 years. this is the first o2 sensor I'm having issues with. I'm returning it tomorrow, getting another one and we'll see if the thermo-tec wrap was the culprit. I guess you can individually wrap the header pipes, but doing the blanket wrap too thick causes too much of a heat trap,...AND i guess that o2 sensors have a melting point for the wiring...
