HELP! Problem With Fuel Pressure
HELP! Problem With Fuel Pressure
Hi guys, i need ur help here. I have a 2002 lancer oz rally and i swap the engine from an 2006 lancer es. After swap my fuel pump start screaming and when i drive it its like there not enough fuel in the cylinders(it shaking). I made some research and realized that on my old 02 engine the fuel pressure regulator was build on the engine, but the 06 engine dont have it build in, the fuel pressure regulator on 2006 lancer es its on the fuel pump assembly,in the tank. Soo basically my car right now is running without a fuel pressure regulator . I tried to change the fuel pump assembly and tank from 2006,but is not interchangeable with my 2002 lancer.
guys please i need to know if i can build on my new engine a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator or i need an after-market hight performance fuel system. Please i need ur ideas here.
I need to know if someone had problem like mine.

the 06 has a non-return fuel system, extra doesnt keep circulating to and from the tank..
if u swapped the motor into your 02.. then u still have your return line to the fuel tank..
u need to pull your fuel rail and fpr off your origonal motor, and connect the return line again on the 06 motor..
most all the motors ive used int he past were all off 04-06 lancers, i have never had a problem, but this was one of the things i swapped over from my older motors. u probably have a few nasty bubbles int he fuel lines, the return line should correct your problem.
