I have a sirius radio installed, I used the front console cig. light socket.

Does anyone else experience a whine from the Alt?

When I become not so lazy I will try to find a cleaner power source.

According to the schematic, the lighter goes through one relay then straight from the charging system.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this and if someone has found a cleaner source without me trying to hunt for one...

 

From what I can see, it's not a matter of dirty power per say. You are getting some feedback, possibly from bad grounding somewhere. You can try putting a capacitor from your positive connection to ground to try to eliminate it.
