Idle Problem

Earlier today I installed new tail lights
1. Unplugged battery
2. Removed old tail lights
3. Installed new tail lights
4. Replugged battery
5. Lights worked
so I took the car out and started up the car and noticed that the cars rpms were
really low like if the car was about to die. Drove around town rpms were jumping. This hasn't happened bfore since I've had this car. Would this have anything to do wit me unplugging the battery? And how would I be able to get the car running normally?

Did you let the car let the car idle for 30 mins like your supposed to? If not....unplug the battery for 15 mins. plug it in. Let car idle for 30 mins. Cut car off. Cut it back on. Drive casually for 30 mins. cut car off. Cut it back on. Let idle with a/c on for 20-30 mins. Drive casually with a/c on for 30 mins. The get on highway drive 30 mins one way without a/c on and drive back with a/c on. Perfect fix for both no a/c and with a/c.

It most likely is back to normal but since no one used the search feature i figure this will be the 1st post they come across. This is for anyone that has unplugged thier battery for more than 5 mins. The ecu needs to relearn. Do not drive it right after a 5+ mins without battery plugged in.

Wow, he doesn't need to drive around the world for the ECU to learn its stuff again.

Do not drive it right after a 5+ mins without battery plugged in.

OP, just go on with your day and it'll get back to normal shortly.
If it doesn't, come back here.

I am having a similar RPM jumping situation. It is only when the car is in neutral, it has even stalled on me a couple times while cruising in neutral to a stop light. I know that I have a code for my IAC motor which I have not replaced yet because I stripped the screws . But a couple of days ago while driving on the highway my check light came on while accelerating from the on ramp onto the highway. My gas pedal has become very stiff compared to how it used to feel. Throttle response is lowered and the car feels like it has serious power problems. Also, car doesn't seem to like going past 3k rpms. But it will go to 5k still .. just lack of power. Any help?

EDIT: Heavy gas pedal was from too much oil in the engine, removed small amount and pedal feel returned to normal and so did the power.

Idle is still from the IAC motor.
