DRL Solution

i may have figured at a way to solve all of our DRL problems. DRLs are annoying especially if you have HIDs and dont want them to be on all the time. so this got me thinking about ways to get rid of them. make a switch rewire them to my highbeams or fogs. but the solution that seems the "easiest" is the one my friend told me. take off the sensor for the DRLs. this sensor is located on the ebrake it is a green wire that is hooke up to a metal piece sticking off the ebrake. the problem is that removing the wire will actually turn on the lights. this is because with that unplugged it recognizes the ebrake as off so the DRLs will be on. the only way to bypass this is to remove the whole metal piece attached to the ebrake. there are two problems with this though: one the screw is glued in and i havent gotten it off yet, and two this will leave your ebrake light on (that might not be a problem). I am going to continue to try and get off this attachment and will post pics and let you know how this works out. but this does seem like the easiest way to remove the DRLs

Sorry to bust your bubble man but if you leave your ebrake up and put it into drive in a couple seconds the Drl still turn on .

this is definitely not the easiest way to remove drl's .

after you drive and the car thinks the e brake is on it will warn you until you release it, so it wont just be a simple "brake" light illuminated, the entire LCD screen will flash something.

test it out, pull your e brake up enough so that its not fully engaged but enough for the light to be on and drive.

see if anything flashes at you to alert you to release the brake.

even if you have a manual, you will get a warning and dinging all the time that your e-brake is still engaged, and the engine and cluster ECU's will see road speed and tell the ETACS ecu to turn on the DRL'S
