Door buzzer!!!
Door buzzer!!!
Someone please tell me what to disconnect to not hear my stupid driver side door buzzer anymore!! I want to wax my car with the doors open, and the radio on, without the extra bonging!!! Please no shortcuts, like tape the door interlocks... Thanks, James
your door switch is a "normally closed" switch. which means with the door open the circuit is closed and completes the ground allowing the buzzer to go off. the simplest way to bypass and keep the clean appearence is to disconnect the switch from the door jam remove and cap off the line and reinsert. this way the look remains the same
if it is a " normally open" switch, then you would want to remove the switch, and jump the two wires together. then replace the switch to have the normal appearance.
PS you are also going to loose the dome light over head on with door open option.
after you remove the switch in the door use a multi meter to check if it is a normally open or closed switch to find out your method from above.
this will also allow you a very quick switch back to normal when you go to resell.

I'm an electronics technician by trade, so I understand everything you said, but I was looking to go with a buzzer removal (or disconnect), so I don't lose the dome light function.... any more help about which one the buzzer is?? My ear is telling me it's located by the fuses.... James
That's not a fix.... after just washing the car, then drying the windows, if you roll them down, they streak, and you have to dry them again, not to mention when you're cleaning the interior and your in and out of the car, or armor-alling the dash..... Thanks anyway though, James
Uhhh, thanks, once again for your opinion, but, once again, I'd rather solve the problem correctly, by changing the car to suit me, not changing me, to suit what Mitsubishi thinks should be done. I appreciate the fact that you're educated about electronics, but please refrain from posting unless you can truly help me out with my specific request.... suggesting I change my preference of doing things is honestly not helping.... Thank you, James

first remove the stearing wheel cover then look where you put the key in the ingnition look behine that thier is a white plastic thing thier are two wire i think teh colors are green and the other is black anyway cut the wires and strip the ends tie them together and the noise is gone and the dome light still works i had to do this when is had to hook up my remote starter.
Okay, now we're getting somewhere... thanks, I'll have to look into that... Anything else I should be watchful for during the splice?? Is the steering wheel cover easy to undo?? Thanks for the help... If anyone else has helpful comments, please let me know, James
I have not look on the Lancer, but most cars have a little module that can be removed and then the buzzer is no longer . It is usually a little black box that can be removed and replaced by hand. Maybe try finding a manual or ask the dealer.
