SES light on..
So the SES light is on now, it's close to 31k miles..can anyone guess what this could be? The only thing I've modded so far are the spark plugs, and i did those when i had like 10k miles on the car. I took off the cat once, and then put it back on around 25k miles.the SES light didnt come up then. Could this just mean to go take it in for normal maintenence or do u guys think it could be something serious? The car runs normal, ignition is fine, idles fine, runs fine..doesnt seem like there is a problem. Im gonna go get the code checked sometime, i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this. thx for you help!!

it might be because u took out the cat and it didnt catch it right away but it did now, a couple miles later.
Bob . . . i know u talked about installing a test pipe .. . when i installed mine, my light came on for some reason, who knwos ** the o2 sensor was in ** but i just took out the neg terminal of the bat. for a few mins then started er' back up and it ran perfect and no light anymore. But . . .now the light is back on btu tahts only because i just put on headers with now o2 sensor ** damn kamikazi haha**
good luck.

yea i guess ill just reset the ecu for now, but im gonna bring it to autozone just in case it's some different code. its kinda weird for the light to come on like 5000 miles down the road of just taking off the cat and putting it back in
it happened to me at around 12k miles and im at 24k right now. i was bone stock and i was wondering what the hell it could have been. i found out that the ses light can be triggered by not closing the gas cap properly, leaving the engine on while refueling [dont know why anyone would do that], or leaving the key in the position where you could only play the radio, also while refueling. just reset the ecu and u should be fine. if it still doesnt disappear when u reset, just take it in for a quick check-up..
