Aftermarket or stock headlight housings?
HID or halogen? If HID, is it factory or aftermarket? I'm not familiar w/ what options came on which trims on the Lancers.

Melting electrical components means heat, which usually means a short or a bad ground but if that were the case, the bulb should have blown out before anything melted.

Are the halogen? If they are get a new set and put some thermal grease in the socket before you put them on. I've read/heard somewhere that it helps with the heat. I have no proof or evidence of this but I'm doing this and haven't had a problem so far.
