Since my last oil change at a jiffylube (not sure if its the cause) the engine has been making a weird sound. Sounds like the Mitsubishi Fuso trucks, like a tat tat tat tat sound. Any guesses?

 

Is it constant? Only sometimes? Rhythmic, random? Fast, slow? Does anything start/stop it like turning AC on or off?


Keep in mind lancers come from the factory with a light, rapid clicking noise. I forget what makes the noise, but it's often mistaken as something wrong. I'm assuming that since you have an 08 you're probably accustomed to what your car should sound like but just making sure.

 

I was told the clicking noise was the fuel pump. Don't remember by who so could be wrong.

 

That would be the fuel injectors XD

 

lol same thing happened to me. i heard that engine ticking after going to mitsubishi for a free oil change
scared the **** out of me till i noticed it was niormal
