blower motor not working
blower motor not working
I have a 2008 Lancer SE and my blower motor quit. I replaced the motor with no luck. The relay checks fine. The voltage going to the motor actually decreases as I turn the fan speed up?????? Could this be the resistor? Wouldn't the fan only work on high speed if the resistor was bad? Any insight would be appreciated!!!
It doesn't sound like it's your issue, but a resistor is cheap enough to just replace...if that doesn't fix your problem, check your wiring for grounding problems or straight up melted connectors. If I can find it, I'll post the wiring digram from the factory service manual for you. Keep us posted!
Unless your outta warranty take it to the dealer and make um fix it. Bumper to bumper warranty for 5 years/50,000 miles on that car. That is not a normal wearable part that would go out this soon.

Got a 2008 Lancer GTS.Were you able to find a solution? My motor blower shaft was siezed, but I was able to take it apart and clean it up,did a direct hookup to car battery and motor worked fine. When I hooked it up to the connector in the glove compartment ,the motor seemed to be completely dead, when I took the voltage from the connector,I found out that the voltage going to the motor does decrease as I turn fan speed up,around 8.9V at the highest setting.Seems like we have a similar problem.

Ok tried replacing the relay C-303 (blower relay on ETACS-ECU),still no juice.Any help would be much appreciated!
it is most likely the resistor...i tried to find one at my usual parts warehouse but had no luck. i guess i will try the dealer next. i also hooked my blower up to the battery and it works as well. after talking with several mechanics...i was informed it has got to be the resistor or the control panel. resistor is the cheaper to try next.

Thanks Jeff, what sucks is that I'm past the warranty period.Took out the resistor, which looked pretty good, meaning no corrosion or stuff on connectors,I think I'll try that first before buying the motor.Good luck and thanks.

Changed my corroded resistor on Lancer (2015) fan blower still donesnt work
Hi guys please assistance required !
On my 2015 Lancer Fan stopped working all of a sudden (neither hot nor AC) i started replacing the motor - No Luck ! Then returned the piece and replaced the corroded resistor ( I was sure this was the problem seeing the corrosion built on the old piece) it seemed to work a short period of time then stopped 😌 im discouraged . Whats my next move ? Circuit OR can a bad resistor damage blower motor as well (perhaps i shouldnt have returned the replaced motor just yet !) any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
I am also wondering if I might be missing some juice elsewhere (Although coolant level seems fine)
