Anyone else own a 13 Lancer Gt 5 spd manual? I just purchased one yesterday and the clutch seems very weak and seems to slip in certain gears at certain RPMs.... I've owned a couple dozen if standard shift cars over the years and have never had a car with a a clutch that slips the way this car does.... Seems to do it most from 3500 rpm and up in 2nd 3rd and 4th... Anyone else? Wanted to get some talk with some people before I take it back to the dealer...thx

 

I noticed that on my test drive (a 2010 GTS) that it was slipping... (it was my very post in the forum - asking if this was an issue or an anomaly)...

But i have not seen other complaints, so... [shrug]

Make the dealer service personnel drive it with you and point it out...

 

Yea my car goes back to the dealer tomorrow. And then I will see what they are gonna do about it.. I test drove 2 other Lancer GTs before I bought mine... and I other did slip on the test drive ... at the time I just figured it maybe needed broken in... but then I bought my car and it does it also... most commonly in 3rd and 4th gears....

 

So I took the car into the dealer today and both the service tech and service manager agree that I own a brand new 2013 Lancer GT with a slipping clutch .... The car now has 300 miles on it, but was slipping the day I drove it off the lot.....

 

So here's the update.... Dealership changed out the pressure plate, disc and flywheel ... They tell me once the transmission and parts were removed that they could see that the disc seemed to have some kinda oily residue on it from manufacturing .... I'm guessing there will be more talk of this problem because I had test driven another 13 GT at another local dealer and that car had the same slippage issues during the yet drive.... Now that the new clutch and flywheel have been installed the car operates soo much better and no slippage...
