spark plugs covered in oil. 2003 ES
hey guys, i was changing out my spark plugs today and well, i saw that they were covered in oil. Not that black residue that all spark plugs have on them after use, but dripping oil. whats my problem and how can i fix it?
Your spark plug gaskets are worn. Go to advanced auto, oriely, or autozone and get a valve cover gasket kit.
You will be replacing the valve cover gasket and the four spark plug gaskets.
Do not over torque the valve cover putting it back on. Keep a mental note on how easily the bolts for it come off.
Not to scare you but really bad oil leakage from the spark gaskets can destroy your spark wires or lead to a fire.
It's a really easy job. Shouldn't take more than 40 minutes for someone who's inexperienced. Get that taken care of ASAP.
