Rear Defogger Problem

I was hoping someone could help me.

There seems to be an issue with my rear defogger, when i push the rear defogger button, the light goes on and I hear a click each time I press the button near my left knee.

I checked the grid on the rear window and it isn't damaged...I read up that sometimes the tabs attaching to the grid fall off however I can't find where they are and I can't find my answer searching anywhere online... can anyone help!

Much appreciated! thanks in advance

Did you check the fuses?

Pull the plastic trim surounding the grid (should just pop off). Check for voltage and ground.

(It is the drivers side trim on a sportback)

Looks like my 30 amp fuse has blown, thanks! Will replace tomorrow and see if it works! Hopefully it has nothing to do with the hid lights I installed
