Hey all

I have a 2008 lancer es with a stock sound system.


Currently, when I play the radio, I am able to get sound from all 4 speakers

When I use a cd, however, I only get it from the driver side front.

In checking the different front back left right combos on the dash, it seems like
little to no sound is coming from the other speakers.

Any ideas what would cause this?

Im guessing there are separate wires for radio and cd since 1 works for all 4 speakers while 1 doesnt.

I would prefer to not take it to someone if I can fix it myself or have some guidance.

You need a new receiver/cd player. The speakers only have a pair of wires to each from the radio.

 

The CD player one-channel-only defect is a recognized defect with the stock radio.


Either buy NEW from Mitsu (with warranty) or go aftermarket with a steering wheel interface (to keep functionality).


DO NOT buy used or off EBay unless specifically told the CD works (both channels)

 

That makes sense, sometimes it will work fine other times it wont. I wonder how much a new stock radio is. I wonder what the actual issue is that causes the problem with the head unit.

Any recommendations on a aftermarket with steering wheel functionality? I would need a dash kit too, Metra or schosche, I believe right?
