Lancer no crank issue
Lancer no crank issue
Hello!
I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the issue that im having currently. My 2008 Lancer DE was dead for a couple years due to a really bad clutch bleeding problem, but a week ago after replacing all of the hydro system we finally got it to engage the pressure plate. Freaking win!
And now it won't crank
The biggest problem with this car is that i've had the engine out so many times that things got beat up in the process. Here's whats going on. With a good battery and a jump pack on it, I turn the key and we here the throttle body do it's three click and then we hear an electric hum, when the key is turned to crank. Ive replaced the alternator a couple days ago, verified that every sensor and clip are properly seated and meticulously went over the grounds to verify they are good to go. Also had the distributor tested and it works fine.
I've checked my clutch sensors and its okay, i've played around with the relays and swapped them and they seem to be good. I've checked all of the fuses and none are blown either. If anyone has any ideas as to what it could be please let me know. Im jonesing to drive this car again and as soon as it works I can start planning a FI system for it.
I'm trying to determine if this is an issue due to it sitting outside for two years or if it is my fault pulling the engine so many times. I promise that there are no sheared clips or missing sensors, i've made sure they kept safe.
Thanks!

I had this problem when I first first installed my engine. By the alternator there are two plugs that look exactly alike and can get swapped around, leading to the car not cranking, but everything else working. Check there first. After I switched these mine fired right up. Hope that helps.
