Hey guys i am new to all this so hope i am doing this right. My partner has an 08 lancer es. Sometimes when going around corners she say the steering locks up completely as if the key has been removed and all the lights come on as if she has stalled it. She says she hits the acclerator hard and it seems to go again. I have not experienced this yet with her and am now driving her car so i can figure out exactly what is happening whether it is locked or just stiff without assistance. Does anyone have any idea on what could be the problem. Maybe ignition or barrell problems or something to do with the steering or even power steering pump. My partner is scared to drive now in case there is an accident with the boys.

 

It may be stalling out and she 'catches' it.
