Bluetooth not working
Bluetooth not working
I have a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer. I have the OEM touch screen radio with out Nav. Recently the Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel and the USB port stopped working. I can not get power off the USB port. In the menu, I can not connect another phone or disconnect my phone. Is there any suggestions that are not taking the car to the dealer. I tried several iPods and USB sticks and that did not resolve the problem.
Does the bluetooth option still come up on your screen between the "CD" and "AUX" options (If you still have AUX enabled in the menus that is)? Also does your phone still connect to the bluetooth even though there's no option?
In Canada the bluetooth modules are actually under warrenty for 160k km and 10 years, but not with mitsubishi, JOHNSON CONTROLS manufactures the oem modules and they have their own warranty. You'll have to contact them, open a case number, and then give that case number to mitsubishi. Make sure you stress that it's an issue with the module itself and not your phone, because JCI WILL try to say its a phone issue and not a module issue; in which they will just update your device without replacing it.
You can contact JCI at: 888-702-4100. At least that's the number I was given. I suggest contacting Mitsubishi and asking about any info they have on this issue first, including warranty in your area for your bluetooth module, if they don't know, just contact JCI directly, sometimes the people at these dealerships can be fairly under qualified. If it is under warranty they will have to do the install and everything at the dealership, you can't just order it and put it in yourself, but anything under warranty will be free.
