Brake light intermittent

My 2009 Lancer DE the parking light comes on intermittent (both the light that just say brake, and also the main instrument). The parking brake it self is not engaged though. In the past I have adjusted the parking brake handle, as after the rear brakes wear down, it's harder to pull the handle up. Any suggestions? Also I'm thinking of removing the plastic console (around the brake handle and cup holders). Any advise on removing it without damaging the plastic?

You were right. The brake fluid reservoir was a bit low. I added fluid and took it for a test drive, and it stopped. Thanks! =)

Parking Brake Adjustment

A mechanic friend of mine sowed you can pull up the plastic cup holder section of the center console without any tools.Just takes a firm grasp on the cup holder section, and it pulls up (be careful not to pull to hard to avoid damage).
I was able to remove that, and use a 10 mm wrench to adjust the parking brake. This wasn't part of the issue with the brake light coming on, but good to know to adjust the parking brake.
