Check your brake fluid level. 99.9% of the time, that is the issue.

Oh wow, I've never heard this. So if it's too low the brake light will turn on, seriously?

The ebrake and brake fluid level indicator make the same light go off in most cars. I have personally never seen an ebrake switch go bad but have always had the issue of the fluid being low when the brake light wont go off in every car i've owned.

Believe it or not this is the very first time I have heard of this. Thanks for the heads up, i'll be sure to check out the level today. It would make sense on why the light goes off when I accelerate (the fluid could move back from the g's) and then turn back on right after.

The slosh of the fluid can make the light go on and off. Let us know if this was indeed the issue.

I'll check...but I would assume that it would need to be below the "min" level in order for that to be the issue. I wasn't able to check it during my lunch break, so I'm not too sure.

So now that means your pads are low or you have a leak in the hydraulic system. You might want to check that out as well.

well check your brake. Im in iraq, and my wife told me that the brake light stayed on even with the e brake down. So i said check the fluid, and if it needs refilling then do it. She did and now the light is gone. She had me worried for a minute. Being in iraq is not the time you wanna hear about your car having problems lol
