Always the 2nd O2 sensor, never the 1st or be deadmeat.

W/o the O2 mod, nothing that I can think of, except getting a new cat.

I'm iffy if the AFC can turn off the CE light. It can lean it out a bit, but it will constantly fight signals from the 2nd O2 asking the 1st O2 sensor to correct itself.

It will be a never-ending battle, and your car will suffer in drivability. Good chance your spark plugs will burn out fast.

yeah, you hacked up the 1st o2 sensor? damn dawg, you need to get a new one, find the quiet neighborhoods, some of the rich kids parents bought em Lancer's and you can do some midnight mechanic.

No seriously, your screwed but in the meantime besides AFC maybe get smaller injectors from a hyundai or somethin to lean it out?

take it in and tell em it happened at school and you're pissed.

so basically my only option would be to modify the second o2 sensor with a mil eliminator or o2 simulator to get the computer to quit running so damn rich...Sounds easy enough

If you already removed your cat, why not get a header and an intake to balance things out and all will be well again.

I'm running my lancer with the Kamikaze header and the RRM short RAM intake and haven't had any problems, not even a CEL.

Your other quick resolution will be to get a new cat and put it back in place. I would sell you mine but I need to pass my inspection in December.

Did the kamikaze header come with a cat attatched to it like the stock exhaust manifold did? I already have a short ram intake on it...Im not running so rich that it has affected the gas mileage, maybe 1 mpg from what I can tell thus far. If I can fix the problem I would be so happy, I dont want the heads getting warped or anything to go wrong because of my stupidity, then I would be in some deep crap...parents would kill me

MIL Eliminator will only trick the computer to stop displaying the Check Engine Light for the O2 malfunction, I will not fix your Air to Fuel Ratio.

You need to open up your air by using an high flow intake.

the header comes with a down pipe, no cats in my car.

The reason why the light is not going off is because I have no leaks and I'm also using RRM's high flow cat (straight pipe) to replace the second cat.

Good Luck Partner!

This Post should be stickied as a warning to all those thinking of attempting this.

I'm sure you do!

You probably beat your cat so badly it doesn't even fit right anymore or maybe you put some holes in it?

How the hell did you do it?

is there any difference in gutting the cat and getting a test pipe, seems like it would be the same thing?
